Then the cupbearer and the baker for the king of Egypt, who were confined in jail*, bothhad a dream the samenight, eachman with his own dream and eachdream with its own interpretation.

Then they said to him, "We have had a dream and there is noone to interpret it." Then Josephsaid to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, please."

When the chiefbakersaw that he had interpretedfavorably, he said to Joseph, "I also saw in my dream, and behold, there were threebaskets of whitebread on my head;

Thus it came about on the thirdday, which was Pharaoh'sbirthday*, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chiefcupbearer and the head of the chiefbakeramong his servants.
