"Look at the behemoth, which I made1 along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.2
What strength3 he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly!4
His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.5
His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs6 like rods of iron.7
He ranks first among the works of God,8 yet his Maker9 can approach him with his sword.10
The hills bring him their produce,11 and all the wild animals play12 nearby.13
Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds14 in the marsh.15
The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream16 surround him.
When the river rages,17 he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan18 should surge against his mouth.
Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?19
