Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green.1 The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree2 and the vine3 yield their riches.4
Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice5 in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness.6 He sends you abundant showers,7 both autumn8 and spring rains,9 as before.
The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow10 with new wine11 and oil.
"I will repay you for the years the locusts12 have eaten13-- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-- my great army14 that I sent among you.
You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,15 and you will praise16 the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders17 for you; never again will my people be shamed.18
Then you will know19 that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD 20 your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.21
"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit22 on all people.23 Your sons and daughters will prophesy,24 your old men will dream dreams,25 your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants,26 both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.27
I will show wonders in the heavens28 and on the earth,29 blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness30 and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.31
And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD 32 will be saved;33 for on Mount Zion34 and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance,35 as the LORD has said, among the survivors36 whom the LORD calls.37
