And the apostlesandbrethren that wereinJudaeaheardthat the Gentileshadalsoreceived the word of God.

AndwhenPeter was come uptoJerusalem, they that were of the circumcisioncontendedwithhim,

Saying*, Thou wentest intomenuncircumcised*, and didst eat with them.

ButPeter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them,saying,

Iwasin the city of Joppapraying: andin a trance I saw a vision, A certainvesseldescend, as it had been a greatsheet, let downfromheaven by fourcorners;and it cameeven to me:

Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, andsaw fourfooted beasts of the earth,and wild beasts,and creeping things,andfowls of the air.

And I heard a voicesaying unto me,Arise, Peter;slayandeat.
8
But I said, Not so,Lord:fornothingcommonoruncleanhath at any timeenteredintomymouth.
9
But the voiceansweredmeagain*fromheaven,WhatGod hath cleansed, that callnotthoucommon.

Andthis was done* three times:andall were drawn upagainintoheaven.

And,behold, immediately there werethreemenalreadycomeunto the housewhere*Iwas, sentfromCaesareauntome.

And the Spiritbademe go withthem,nothingdoubting. Moreover*thesesixbrethrenaccompanied*me,and we enteredinto the man'shouse:

And he shewedushow he had seen an angelinhishouse, which stoodandsaid unto him,SendmentoJoppa,and call forSimon, whose surname isPeter;
14
Who shall tellthee*words,whereby*thouandallthyhouse shall be saved.

AndasIbegan to speak, the HolyGhostfellonthem,as*onusat the beginning.

Then remembered I the word of the Lord,how that he said, Johnindeedbaptized with water;butye shall be baptizedwith the HolyGhost.

ForasmuchthenasGodgavethem the likegiftas he did unto us, who believedon the LordJesusChrist*; whatwasI, that I couldwithstandGod?

When they heard these things, they held their peace, andglorifiedGod,saying, ThenhathGodalso to the Gentilesgrantedrepentanceuntolife.

Nowthey which were scattered abroadupon the persecution that aroseaboutStephentravelled as far asPhenice,andCyprus,andAntioch,preaching the word to nonebut unto the Jewsonly.

Andsomeofthemweremen of CyprusandCyrene,which, when they were cometoAntioch,spakeunto the Grecians,preaching the LordJesus.

And the hand of the Lordwaswiththem:and a greatnumberbelieved, and turnedunto the Lord.

Thentidingsof these thingscameunto the ears of the churchwhich was inJerusalem:and they sent forthBarnabas, that he should go as far asAntioch.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, andexhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

For he was a goodman,andfull of the HolyGhostand of faith:andmuchpeople was added unto the Lord.

And when he had foundhim, he broughthimuntoAntioch.And it came to pass, that a wholeyearthey assembled themselveswith[a] the church,andtaughtmuchpeople.And the disciples were calledChristiansfirstinAntioch.

And there stood uponeofthemnamedAgabus, and signifiedby the Spirit that there should be*greatdearththroughoutall the world:whichcame to pass in the days ofClaudiusCaesar.

Then the disciples,everyman according to his ability*, determined to sendreliefunto the brethren which dweltinJudaea:

Whichalso they did, and sent itto the eldersby the hands of BarnabasandSaul.
