271And Jesussaid to them, "You will allafallaway, because it is written, '2I WILL STRIKEDOWN THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP SHALL BE SCATTERED.'28"But after I have been raised, 3I will goahead of you to Galilee."29
But Petersaid to Him, "Even thoughall may bfallaway, yet I will not."
30
And Jesussaid to him, "Truly I say to you, that c4thisverynight, before5a roostercrowstwice, you yourself will deny Me threetimes."31
But Peter kept sayinginsistently, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" And they all were saying the samethingalso.
326They came to a placenamedGethsemane ; and He said to His disciples, "Sithereuntil I have prayed."33
And He took with Him Peter and dJames and John, and began to be very7distressed and troubled.
34
And He said to them, "8My soul is deeplygrieved to the point of death ; remainhere and keepwatch."35
And He went a littlebeyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, 9the hour might epass Him by.
36
And He was saying, "10Abba ! Father ! Allthings are possible for You; removethiscup from Me; 11yet not what I will, but what You will."37
And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep ? Could you not keepwatch for onehour ?38"12Keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation ; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."39Again He wentaway and prayed, saying the samefwords.
40
And again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy ; and they did not knowwhat to answer Him.
41
And He came the thirdtime, and said to them, "gAre you stillsleeping and resting ? It is enough ; 13the hour has come ; behold, the Son of Man is being hbetrayed into the hands of sinners.42"Get up, let us be going ; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand !"
4314Immediately while He was stillspeaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came up iaccompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs, who were from the chiefpriests and the scribes and the elders.
44Now he who was betraying Him had given them a signal, saying, "Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him and lead Him awayjunderguard."
45
After coming, Judas immediatelywent to Him, saying, "15Rabbi !" and kissed Him.
46
They laidhands on Him and seized Him.
47
But one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the slave of the highpriest and kcutoff his ear.
48
And Jesussaid to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me, as you would against a robber ?49"Everyday I was with you 16in the templeteaching, and you did not seize Me; but this has taken place to fulfill the Scriptures."50
And they allleft Him and fled.
51
A youngman was following Him, wearing nothing but a linensheetover his naked body; and they seized him.
