301The 2apostlesgatheredtogether with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.
And He said to them, "Comeaway by yourselves to a secludedplace and rest a while." (For there were many people coming and going, and 3they did not evenhavetime to eat.)
324They wentaway in 5the boat to a secludedplace by themselves.
The people saw them going, and manyrecognized them and rantheretogether on foot from all the cities, and gotthereahead of them.
When Jesus wentaashore, He 6saw a largecrowd, and He feltcompassion for them because7they were likesheepwithout a shepherd; and He began to teach them manythings.
When it was alreadyquitelate , His disciplescame to Him and said, "bThisplace is desolate and it is alreadyquitelate ;
36send them awayso that they may go into the surroundingcountryside and villages and buythemselvescsomething to eat."
But He answered them, "You give them something to eat!"8And they said to Him, "Shall we go and spendtwohundredd9denarii on bread and give them something to eat?"
And He said to them, "Howmanyloaves do you have? Golook!" And when they found out, they said, "Five, and twofish."
And He commanded them all to esitdown by groups on the greengrass.
They fsatdown in groups of hundreds and of fifties.
And He took the fiveloaves and the twofish, and looking up towardheaven, He 10blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to setbefore them; and He divided up the twofish among them all.
They allate and were satisfied,
and they picked up twelvefull11baskets of the brokenpieces, and also of the fish.
There were 12fivethousandmen who ate the loaves.
4513Immediately Jesus made His disciplesget into 14the boat and goahead of Him to the otherside to 15Bethsaida, while He Himself was sending the crowdaway.
After 16bidding them farewell, He left17for the mountain to pray.
When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.
48Seeing them gstraining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the h18fourthwatch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them.
But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
for they allsaw Him and were iterrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them, "19Takecourage; it is I, 20do not be afraid."51Then He got into 21the boat with them, and the windstopped; and they were utterlyastonished,
for 22they jhad not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but ktheir heart23was hardened.
5324When they had crossedover they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.
When they got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him,
and ranabout that wholecountry and began to carryhere and there on their palletsthose who were sick, to lthe place they heard He was.
56Wherever He enteredvillages, orcities, orcountryside, they were laying the sick in the marketplaces, and imploring Him that they might just25touch26the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured.
