4so that your agiving will be in secret; and 1your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.5"When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to 2stand and pray in the synagogues and on the streetcornersb3so that they may be seen by men. 4Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.6"But you, when you pray, 5go into your innerroom, close your door and pray to your Fatherwho is in secret, and 6your Fatherwhosees what is done in secret will reward you.7"And when you are praying, do not usemeaninglessrepetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their 7manywords.8"So do not be like them; for 8your Fatherknowswhat you needbefore you ask Him.9"9Pray, then, in thisway:'Our Fatherwho is in heaven,Hallowed be Your name.10'10Your kingdomcome.11Your will be done,On earth as it is in heaven.11'12Give us thisdaycour dailybread.12'And 13forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13'And do not lead us into temptation, but 14deliver us from d15evil. e[For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the gloryforever.
