15
For what I am doing, 1I do not understand ; for I am not practicing2what I would like to do, but I am doing the verything I hate.
16
But if I do the verything I do not want to do, I agree with 3the Law, confessing that the Law is good.
17Sonow, 4nolonger am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
18
For I know that nothinggooddwells in me, that is, in my 5flesh ; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
19
For 6the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the veryevil that I do not want.
20
But if I am doing the verything I do not want, 7I am nolonger the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
21
I findthen8the aprinciple that evil is present in me, the one who wants to dogood.
22
For I joyfullyconcur with the law of Godbin 9the innerman,
23
but I see10a differentlaw in cthe members of my body, wagingwaragainst the 11law of my mind and making me a prisonerdof 12the law of sin which is in my members.
24Wretchedman that I am! Who will set me free from e13the body of this14death ?
2515Thanks be to GodthroughJesusChrist our Lord ! Sothen, on the onehand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh16the law of sin.
