Therefore they could not believe
God had determined to leave them to the blindness and hardness of their hearts, and to deny them his grace, which only could cure them of it, and enable them to believe: he had foretold this in prophecy, and they were manifestly the persons spoken of; and therefore considering the decrees of God, the predictions of the prophet, and the hardness of their hearts, they were left unto, it was morally impossible they should believe,

because that Esaias said again,
in ( Isaiah 6:9 Isaiah 6:10 ) .

37 A pesar de haber hecho Jesús todas estas señales en presencia de ellos, todavía no creían en él.

38 Así se cumplió lo dicho por el profeta Isaías:«Señor, ¿quién ha creído a nuestro mensaje,y a quién se le ha revelado el poder del Señor?»

39 Por eso no podían creer, pues también había dicho Isaías:

40 «Les ha cegado los ojosy endurecido el corazón,para que no vean con los ojos,ni entiendan con el corazónni se conviertan; y yo los sane».

41 Esto lo dijo Isaías porque vio la gloria de Jesús y habló de él.
