1 Reyes 22:27-37

27 Denles la siguiente orden de parte del rey: “¡Metan a este hombre en la cárcel y no le den más que pan y agua hasta que yo regrese sano y salvo de la batalla!”».

28 Pero Micaías respondió: «¡Si tú regresas a salvo, eso significará que el Señor
no habló por medio de mí!».
Entonces dirigiéndose a los que estaban alrededor, agregó: «¡Todos ustedes, tomen nota de mis palabras!».

29 Muerte de Acab
Entonces Acab, rey de Israel, y Josafat, rey de Judá, dirigieron a sus ejércitos contra Ramot de Galaad.

30 El rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: «Cuando entremos en la batalla, yo me disfrazaré para que nadie me reconozca, pero tú ponte tus vestiduras reales». Así que el rey de Israel se disfrazó, y ambos entraron en la batalla.

31 Mientras tanto, el rey de Aram había dado las siguientes órdenes a sus treinta y dos comandantes de carros de guerra: «Ataquen solo al rey de Israel. ¡No pierdan tiempo con nadie más!».

32 Entonces, cuando los comandantes arameos de los carros vieron a Josafat en sus vestiduras reales, comenzaron a perseguirlo. «¡Allí está el rey de Israel!», gritaban; pero cuando Josafat gritó,

33 los comandantes de los carros se dieron cuenta de que no era el rey de Israel y dejaron de perseguirlo.

34 Sin embargo, un soldado arameo disparó una flecha al azar hacia las tropas israelitas e hirió al rey de Israel entre las uniones de su armadura. «¡Da la vuelta
y sácame de aquí! —dijo Acab entre quejas y gemidos al conductor de su carro—. ¡Estoy gravemente herido!».

35 La encarnizada batalla se prolongó todo ese día, y el rey permaneció erguido en su carro frente a los arameos. La sangre de su herida corría hasta llegar al piso del carro, y al atardecer, murió.

36 Justo cuando se ponía el sol, este clamor recorrió las filas israelitas: «¡Estamos perdidos! ¡Sálvese quien pueda!».

37 Así que el rey murió, y llevaron su cuerpo a Samaria, donde lo enterraron.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 22

This chapter relates, that after three years' peace with the king of Syria, Ahab was inclined to go to war with him, to take Ramothgilead out of his hands; and he drew in Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, to join him in it, 1Ki 22:1-4, but before they went into it, they took advice, Ahab of his four hundred prophets, which Jehoshaphat not being satisfied with, a true prophet of the Lord, Micahah, was sent for, 1Ki 22:5-14 who, when he came, jeered Ahab with what his prophets had said to him; intimated that he should be killed, and explained it to him how he came to be deceived by his prophets, 1Ki 22:15-23 upon which he was smitten on the cheek by Zedekiah, one of the false prophets, and imprisoned by the order of Ahab, 1Ki 22:24-28, after which the two kings went to the battle, and Jehoshaphat was in great danger of his life; but Ahab was wounded, and died, 1Ki 22:29-40, and the chapter is concluded with an account of the reign of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, 1Ki 22:41-50, and of Ahaziah king of Israel, 1Ki 22:51-53.
