2 Samuel 7:9-19

9 y he estado contigo en todo cuanto has andado, y delante de ti he talado todos tus enemigos, y te he hecho nombre grande, como el nombre de los grandes que están en la tierra

10 Además yo pondré lugar a mi pueblo Israel, y yo lo plantaré, para que habite en su lugar, y nunca más sea removido, ni los hijos de la iniquidad le aflijan más, como antes

11 desde el día que puse jueces sobre mi pueblo Israel. Y yo te daré descanso de todos tus enemigos. Asimismo el SEÑOR te hace saber, que él te quiere hacer casa a ti

12 Y cuando tus días fueren cumplidos, y durmieres con tus padres, yo afirmaré tu simiente después de ti, la cual procederá de tus entrañas, y afirmaré su reino

13 El edificará casa a mi nombre, y yo afirmaré para siempre el trono de su reino

14 Yo le seré a él padre, y él me será a mí hijo. Y si él cometiere iniquidad, yo le castigaré con vara de hombres, y con azotes de hijos de hombres

15 pero mi misericordia no se apartará de él, como la aparté de Saúl, al cual quité de delante de ti

16 Y será afirmada tu casa y tu reino para siempre delante de tu rostro; y tu trono será firme eternalmente

17 Conforme a todas estas palabras, y conforme a toda esta visión, así habló Natán a David

18 Y entró el rey David, y se sentó delante del SEÑOR, y dijo: Señor DIOS, ¿Quién soy yo, y qué es mi casa, para que tú me traigas hasta aquí

19 Y aun te ha parecido poco esto, Señor DIOS, sino que hablas también de la casa de tu siervo en lo por venir, y que sea ésta la condición de un hombre, Señor DIOS

INTRODUCTION TO SECOND SAMUEL 7

This chapter expresses David's concern for building an house for the ark of God, which he communicated to Nathan the prophet, and was approved of by him, 2Sa 7:1-3; and who was that night sent by the Lord to David, to acquaint him, that as he had for many years dwelt in a tent, and had never given directions to the tribes of Israel, and the rulers of them, to build him an house, so neither should David build him one; but his son that would succeed him in the throne should; and also observes to him the many great things he had done for him, and promises him more, and particularly the establishment of his throne and kingdom for ever, in which he has respect to the Messiah, that should spring from him, 2Sa 7:4-17. Then follows a prayer of David, in which he expresses the sense he had of the greatness and goodness of God, and of his own unworthiness to receive such favours from him he had, returns him thanks for the promises he had made, and prays for the performance of them, 2Sa 7:18-29.
