Looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolledaway, although it was extremelylarge.

1Entering the tomb, they saw a youngmansitting at the right, wearing a whiterobe; and they 2were amazed.

And he said to them, "3Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the 4Nazarene, who has been crucified. 5He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the placewhere they laid Him.

"But go, tell His disciples and Peter, '6He is goingahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.' "

They went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; and they saidnothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

[Now after He had risenearly on the first day of the week, He firstappeared to 7MaryMagdalene, from whom He had cast out sevendemons.

8She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.

When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, 9they refused to believe it.

After that, 10He appeared in a differentform11to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country.

They wentaway and reported it to the others, but they 12did not believe them either.

14Afterward13He appeared14to the eleventhemselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their 15unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believedthose who had seen Him after He had risen.
