11They came to the otherside of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.

When He got out of 2the boat, immediately a man from the tombs3with an uncleanspiritmet Him,

and he had his dwellingamong the tombs. And no*one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain;

because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been tornapart by him and the shacklesbroken in pieces, and noone was strongenough to subdue him.

Constantly, night and day, he was screamingamong the tombs and in the mountains, and gashinghimself with stones.

SeeingJesus from a distance, he ran up and boweddownbefore Him;
7
and shouting with a loudvoice, he said, "4What business do we have with each other, Jesus, 5Son of 6the MostHighGod? I implore You by God, do not torment me!"
