Driving Out the Nations

1 When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess1 and drives out before you many nations2--the Hittites,3 Girgashites,4 Amorites,5 Canaanites, Perizzites,6 Hivites7 and Jebusites,8 seven nations larger and stronger than you--

2 and when the LORD your God has delivered9 them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy10 them totally.a11 Make no treaty12 with them, and show them no mercy.13
