1
I love the LORD,1 for he heard my voice; he heard my cry2 for mercy.32
Because he turned his ear4 to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
3
The cords of death5 entangled me, the anguish of the gravea came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.
4
Then I called on the name6 of the LORD: "O LORD, save me!7"
5
The LORD is gracious and righteous;8 our God is full of compassion.96
The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need,10 he saved me.117
Be at rest12 once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good13 to you.
8
For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul14 from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,
9
that I may walk before the LORD15 in the land of the living.1610
I believed;17 thereforeb I said, "I am greatly afflicted."1811
And in my dismay I said, "All men are liars."1912
How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness20 to me?
13
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name21 of the LORD.
14
I will fulfill my vows22 to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
15
Precious in the sight23 of the LORD is the death of his saints.2416
O LORD, truly I am your servant;25 I am your servant, the son of your maidservantc;26 you have freed me from my chains.2717
I will sacrifice a thank offering28 to you and call on the name of the LORD.
18
I will fulfill my vows29 to the LORD in the presence of all his people,
19
in the courts30 of the house of the LORD-- in your midst, O Jerusalem.31 Praise the LORD.d
