1
In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;1 let me never be put to shame.22
Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; turn your ear3 to me and save me.
3
Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.44
Deliver5 me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,6 from the grasp of evil and cruel men.75
For you have been my hope,8 O Sovereign Lord, my confidence9 since my youth.
6
From birth10 I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb.11 I will ever praise12 you.
7
I have become like a portent13 to many, but you are my strong refuge.148
My mouth15 is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor16 all day long.
9
Do not cast17 me away when I am old;18 do not forsake19 me when my strength is gone.
10
For my enemies20 speak against me; those who wait to kill21 me conspire22 together.
11
They say, "God has forsaken23 him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue24 him."
12
Be not far25 from me, O God; come quickly, O my God, to help26 me.
13
May my accusers27 perish in shame;28 may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.2914
But as for me, I will always have hope;30 I will praise you more and more.
15
My mouth will tell31 of your righteousness,32 of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure.
16
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts,33 O Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.
17
Since my youth, O God, you have taught34 me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.3518
Even when I am old and gray,36 do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power37 to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.3819
Your righteousness reaches to the skies,39 O God, you who have done great things.40 Who, O God, is like you?4120
Though you have made me see troubles,42 many and bitter, you will restore43 my life again; from the depths of the earth44 you will again bring me up.
21
You will increase my honor45 and comfort46 me once again.
22
I will praise you with the harp47 for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre,48 O Holy One of Israel.4923
My lips will shout for joy50 when I sing praise to you-- I, whom you have redeemed.5124
My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long,52 for those who wanted to harm me53 have been put to shame and confusion.54
