O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,1 by night,2 and am not silent.
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;3 you are the praise4 of Israel.a4
In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.55
They cried to you6 and were saved; in you they trusted7 and were not disappointed.86
But I am a worm9 and not a man, scorned by men10 and despised11 by the people.
All who see me mock me;12 they hurl insults,13 shaking their heads:148
"He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him.15 Let him deliver him,16 since he delights17 in him."
Yet you brought me out of the womb;18 you made me trust19 in you even at my mother's breast.
From birth20 I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God.
Do not be far from me,21 for trouble is near22 and there is no one to help.2312
Many bulls24 surround me;25 strong bulls of Bashan26 encircle me.
