Genesis 21:29

And Abimelech said unto Abraham
Observing what he had done, and not knowing the design of it: what [mean] these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
he understood what the sheep and oxen were for, that they were presents to him, at least some of them, and the rest were for the solemnizing and ratifying the covenant between them; but what these were for he could not devise.

27 And Abraham toke shepe and oxen and gaue them vnto Abimelech. And they made both of them a bonde together.
28 And Abraham sett vij. lambes by them selues.
29 And Abimelech sayde vnto Abraham: what meane these .vij. lamdes which thou hast sett by them selues.
30 And he answered: vij. lambes shalt thou take of my hande that it maye be a wytnesse vnto me that I haue dygged this well:
31 Wherfore the place is called Berseba because they sware both of them.
