Longtimethereforeabodethey speaking boldlyin the Lord,which gave testimony unto the word of hisgrace,andgrantedsignsandwonders to be donebytheirhands.

And when the peoplesawwhatPaul had done, they lifted uptheirvoices,saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come downtous in the likeness of men.

Andsaying, Sirs,why do ye these things?Wealsoaremen of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turnfromthesevanitiesunto the livingGod,whichmadeheaven,andearth,and the sea,and all things that are therein*:

Neverthelessheleftnothimself without witness, in that he did good, and gaveusrain from heaven,andfruitfulseasons,fillingourhearts with foodandgladness.

And there came thither certain JewsfromAntiochandIconium,whopersuaded the people,and, having stonedPaul,drew him out of the city,supposinghe had been dead.

And when they were come, and had gathered the churchtogether, they rehearsedall that God had donewiththem,andhow he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
