Commandinghisaccusers to comeuntothee: by examiningofwhomthyselfmayest take knowledgeofall these things,whereofweaccusehim.

And the Jewsalsoassented, saying that these thingswereso.

ThenPaul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast beenofmanyyears a judge unto thisnation, I do the more cheerfullyanswerformyself:

Because that thoumayestunderstand, that there are yet but*twelvedays*since*I went uptoJerusalem for to worship.

And they neitherfoundmein the templedisputingwith any man,neither raising up* the people*, neitherin the synagogues,norin the city:

Neithercan they prove* the thingswhereoftheynowaccuseme.

Butthis I confess unto thee,thatafter the waywhich they callheresy,so worship I the God of my fathers,believing all thingswhich are writtenin the lawandin the prophets:

And havehopetowardGod,whichtheythemselvesalsoallow, that there shall be* a resurrection of the dead,both of the justandunjust.

Andhereindo I exercisemyself, to havealways a conscience void of offencetowardGod,and toward men.

Nowaftermanyyears I came to bringalmstomynation,andofferings.

Whereupon*certainJewsfromAsiafoundmepurifiedin the temple,neitherwithmultitude,norwithtumult.
