And it came to pass, that whenJesus had finishedthesesayings, he departedfromGalilee,andcameinto the coasts of JudaeabeyondJordan;

Andgreatmultitudesfollowedhim;and he healedthemthere.

The Phariseesalsocame unto him,temptinghim,andsaying unto him, Is it lawful* for a man to put awayhiswifeforeverycause?

And he answered and said unto them,Have yenotread, that he whichmade them at the beginningmadethemmaleandfemale,

Andsaid, For thiscause shall a manleavefatherandmother,and shall cleave to hiswife:and they twain shall be*oneflesh?

Wherefore they are no moretwain,butoneflesh.WhatthereforeGod hath joined together, letnotman put asunder.

They say unto him,Why did Mosesthencommand to give a writing of divorcement,and to putheraway?

He saith unto them*, Moses because of the hardness of yourheartssufferedyou to put awayyourwives:butfrom the beginning it wasnotso.

And I say unto you*, Whosoevershall put awayhiswife,except it be forfornication,and shall marryanother, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Hisdisciplessay unto him,If the case of the manbesowith his wife, it isnotgood to marry.

But he said unto them,All men cannotreceivethissaying,save they to whom it is given.

For there are some eunuchs,which were sobornfrom their mother'swomb:and there are some eunuchs,which were made eunuchsofmen:and there beeunuchs,which have madethemselveseunuchsfor the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Then were there brought unto him little children,that he should put his handsonthem,andpray: and the disciplesrebukedthem.

ButJesussaid, Suffer little children,andforbidthemnot, to comeuntome:for of suchis the kingdom of heaven.

And he laid his handsonthem, and departedthence.

And,behold, onecame and said unto him,GoodMaster,what good thing shall I do, that I may haveeternallife?
17
And he said unto him,Why callest thoumegood? there is nonegoodbutone, that is, God:butif thou wiltenterintolife,keep the commandments.
