Exodus 15:7-17 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
7 In the greatness of your majesty1 you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger;2 it consumed3 them like stubble. 8 By the blast of your nostrils4 the waters piled up.5 The surging waters stood firm like a wall;6 the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.7 9 "The enemy boasted, 'I will pursue,8 I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils;9 I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.' 10 But you blew with your breath,10 and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.11 11 "Who among the gods is like you,12 O LORD? Who is like you--majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? 12 You stretched out13 your right hand and the earth swallowed them.14 13 "In your unfailing love you will lead15 the people you have redeemed.16 In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.17 14 The nations will hear and tremble;18 anguish19 will grip the people of Philistia.20 15 The chiefs21 of Edom22 will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling,23 the peoplea of Canaan will melt24 away; 16 terror25 and dread will fall upon them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone26-- until your people pass by, O LORD, until the people you boughtb27 pass by.28 17 You will bring29 them in and plant30 them on the mountain31 of your inheritance-- the place, O LORD, you made for your dwelling,32 the sanctuary,33 O Lord, your hands established.
