Isaiah 3:8-18 (New International Version)

8 Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling;1 their words2 and deeds3 are against the LORD, defying4 his glorious presence. 9 The look on their faces testifies5 against them; they parade their sin like Sodom;6 they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster7 upon themselves. 10 Tell the righteous it will be well8 with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.9 11 Woe to the wicked!10 Disaster11 is upon them! They will be paid back12 for what their hands have done.13 12 Youths14 oppress my people, women rule over them. O my people, your guides lead you astray;15 they turn you from the path. 13 The LORD takes his place in court;16 he rises to judge17 the people. 14 The LORD enters into judgment18 against the elders and leaders of his people: "It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder19 from the poor20 is in your houses. 15 What do you mean by crushing my people21 and grinding22 the faces of the poor?"23 declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.24 16 The LORD says, "The women of Zion25 are haughty, walking along with outstretched necks,26 flirting with their eyes, tripping along with mincing steps, with ornaments jingling on their ankles. 17 Therefore the Lord will bring sores on the heads of the women of Zion; the LORD will make their scalps bald.27" 18 In that day28 the Lord will snatch away their finery: the bangles and headbands and crescent necklaces,29
