View In My Bible
6 You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? "From now on I will tell you of new things,1 of hidden things unknown to you. 7 They are created2 now, and not long ago;3 you have not heard of them before today. So you cannot say, 'Yes, I knew4 of them.' 8 You have neither heard nor understood;5 from of old your ear6 has not been open. Well do I know how treacherous7 you are; you were called a rebel8 from birth. 9 For my own name's sake9 I delay my wrath;10 for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to cut you off.11 10 See, I have refined12 you, though not as silver; I have tested13 you in the furnace14 of affliction. 11 For my own sake,15 for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed?16 I will not yield my glory to another.17

The LORD's chosen ally27 will carry out his purpose28 against Babylon;29 his arm will be against the Babylonians.a 15 I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called30 him. I will bring him, and he will succeed31 in his mission. 16 "Come near32 me and listen33 to this: "From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret;34 at the time it happens, I am there." And now the Sovereign LORD 35 has sent36 me, with his Spirit.37
