Numbers 14:36

And the men which Moses sent to search the land
Ten of them, who returned;
as they all did, who were sent to search it: and made all the congregation to murmur against him;
against, Moses that sent them; they murmured themselves, and made others murmur: by bringing up a slander upon the land;
that it ate up its inhabitants, and that the inhabitants of it were of such a stature, and so gigantic and strong, and dwelt in such walled cities, ( Numbers 13:28 Numbers 13:29 ) , that there was no probability of subduing them, ( Numbers 13:31-33 ) .

34 According to the number of the days during which ye spied the land, forty days, a day for a year, ye shall bear your sins forty years, and ye shall know my fierce anger.
35 I the Lord have spoken, Surely will I do thus to this evil congregation that has risen up together against me: in this wilderness they shall be utterly consumed, and there they shall die.

37 the men that spoke evil reports against the land, even died of the plague before the Lord.
