Psalm 86

CEB 1 LORD, listen closely to me and answer me, because I am poor and in need. NRS 1 Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. CEB 2 Guard my life because I am faithful. Save your servant who trusts in you—you! My God! NRS 2 Preserve my life, for I am devoted to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God; CEB 3 Have mercy on me, Lord, because I cry out to you all day long. NRS 3 be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all day long. CEB 4 Make your servant's life happy again because, my Lord, I offer my life to you, NRS 4 Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. CEB 5 because, my Lord, you are good and forgiving, full of faithful love for all those who cry out to you. NRS 5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. CEB 6 Listen closely to my prayer, LORD; pay close attention to the sound of my requests for mercy. NRS 6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my cry of supplication. CEB 7 Whenever I am in trouble, I cry out to you, because you will answer me. NRS 7 In the day of my trouble I call on you, for you will answer me. CEB 8 My Lord! There is no one like youamong the gods! There is nothing that can compare to your works! NRS 8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. CEB 9 All the nations that you've made will come and bow down before you, Lord; they will glorify your name, NRS 9 All the nations you have made shall come and bow down before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. CEB 10 because you are awesome and a wonder-worker. You are God. Just you. NRS 10 For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. CEB 11 Teach me your way, LORD, so that I can walk in your truth. Make my heart focused only on honoring your name. NRS 11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart to revere your name. CEB 12 I give thanks to you, my Lord, my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forever, NRS 12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. CEB 13 because your faithful love toward me is awesome and because you've rescued my life from the lowest part of hell. NRS 13 For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. CEB 14 The arrogant rise up against me, God. A gang of violent people want me dead. They don't give a thought for you. NRS 14 O God, the insolent rise up against me; a band of ruffians seeks my life, and they do not set you before them. CEB 15 But you, my Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy; you are very patient and full of faithful love. NRS 15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. CEB 16 Come back to me! Have mercy on me! Give your servant your strength; save this child of your servant! NRS 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant; save the child of your serving girl. CEB 17 Show me a sign of your goodness so that those who hate me will see it and be put to shame— show a sign that you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. NRS 17 Show me a sign of your favor, so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
