Psalm 3 (New International Version)

View In My Bible

A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.

1 O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! 2 Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him.1" "Selah"a 3 But you are a shield2 around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and liftb up my head.3 4 To the LORD I cry aloud,4 and he answers me from his holy hill.5 "Selah" 5 I lie down and sleep;6 I wake again,7 because the LORD sustains me. 6 I will not fear8 the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.9 7 Arise,10 O LORD! Deliver me,11 O my God! Strike12 all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth13 of the wicked. 8 From the LORD comes deliverance.14 May your blessing15 be on your people. "Selah"
