The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed1 and restore him from his bed of illness.24
I said, "O LORD, have mercy3 on me; heal4 me, for I have sinned5 against you."
My enemies say of me in malice, "When will he die and his name perish?6"
Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely,7 while his heart gathers slander;8 then he goes out and spreads9 it abroad.
All my enemies whisper together10 against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying,
"A vile disease has beset him; he will never get up11 from the place where he lies."
Even my close friend,12 whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.1310
But you, O LORD, have mercy14 on me; raise me up,15 that I may repay16 them.
I know that you are pleased with me,17 for my enemy does not triumph over me.1812
In my integrity19 you uphold me20 and set me in your presence forever.21
