Let me hear joy and gladness;1 let the bones2 you have crushed rejoice.
9
Hide your face from my sins3 and blot out4 all my iniquity.
10
Create in me a pure heart,5 O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.6
11
Do not cast me7 from your presence8 or take your Holy Spirit9 from me.
12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation10 and grant me a willing spirit,11 to sustain me.12
13
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,13 and sinners14 will turn back to you.15

Save me16 from bloodguilt,17 O God, the God who saves me,18 and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.19

O Lord, open my lips,20 and my mouth will declare your praise.
16
You do not delight in sacrifice,21 or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17
The sacrifices22 of God area a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,23 O God, you will not despise.
18
In your good pleasure make Zion24 prosper; build up the walls of Jerusalem.25
