For 1whatever was written in earliertimes was written for our instruction, so that throughperseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might havehope.
5
Now may the 2God who givesperseverance and encouragementgrant you 3to be of the samemind with oneanotheraccording to ChristJesus,
6
so that with oneaccord you may with onevoiceglorify4the God and Father of our LordJesusChrist.
7
Therefore, 5acceptoneanother, just as Christalsoaccepted us to the glory of God.
8
For I say that Christ has become a servant to 6the circumcision on behalf of the truth of God to confirm7the promises given to the fathers,
9
and for 8the Gentiles to 9glorifyGod for His mercy; as it is written, "10THEREFORE* I WILL GIVEPRAISE TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND I WILL SING TO YOUR NAME."
10
Again he says, "11REJOICE, O GENTILES, WITH HIS PEOPLE."
11
And again, "12PRAISE THE LORDALL YOU GENTILES, AND LET ALL THE PEOPLESPRAISE HIM."
12
AgainIsaiahsays, "13THERE SHALL COME14THE ROOT OF JESSE, AND HE WHO ARISES TO RULE OVER THE GENTILES, 15IN HIM SHALL THE GENTILESHOPE."
13
Now may the God of hopefill you with all16joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope17by the power of the HolySpirit.
