1 Reyes 4:3-13

3 Elihoref y Ahías, hijos de Sisa, eran secretarios; Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, era el cronista;

4 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, estaba sobre el ejército; y Sadoc y Abiatar eran sacerdotes;

5 Azarías, hijo de Natán, estaba sobre los oficiales; y Zabud, hijo de Natán, un sacerdote, era amigo del rey;

6 Ahisar, era el mayordomo; y Adoniram, hijo de Abda, estaba sobre los hombres sujetos a trabajos forzados.

7 Salomón tenía doce oficiales sobre todo Israel, los cuales abastecían al rey y a su casa. Cada uno tenía que hacerlo un mes en el año.

8 Y estos son sus nombres: Ben-hur, en la región montañosa de Efraín;

9 Ben-decar en Macaz, en Saalbim, en Bet-semes y en Elón-bet-hanán;

10 Ben-hesed en Arubot (de él eran Soco y toda la tierra de Hefer);

11 Ben-abinadab, en toda la altura de Dor (Tafat, hija de Salomón, era su mujer);

12 Baana, hijo de Ahilud, en Taanac y Meguido y todo Bet-seán, que está junto a Saretán, más abajo de Jezreel, desde Bet-seán hasta Abel-mehola, hasta el otro lado de Jocmeam;

13 Ben-geber en Ramot de Galaad (las aldeas de Jair, hijo de Manasés, que están en Galaad eran de él: la región de Argob que está en Basán, sesenta grandes ciudades con muros y cerrojos de bronce eran de él);

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST KINGS 4

As in the preceding chapter we have a proof of the wisdom and understanding which the Lord gave to Solomon, as promised, so in this an account is given of the riches and honour he was possessed of; of him, as king over all Israel, and of his princes, 1Ki 4:1-6; of the providers of food for his household in the several parts of the land, 1Ki 4:7-19; of the largeness and extent of his dominions, and of the peace and prosperity thereof, 1Ki 4:20,21,24,25; of his daily provisions for his household and for his cattle, 1Ki 4:22,23,26-28; and of his superior wisdom and knowledge to all others in all nations, which brought some out of all to hear it, 1Ki 4:29-34.
