Chuàngshìjì 11:1-9

1 Nàshí , tiān xià rén de kǒuyīn , yányǔ , dōu shì yíyàng .

2 Tāmen wǎng dōngbiān qiāyí de shíhou , zaì Shìnádì dì yùjiàn yī piān píngyuán , jiù zhù zaì nàli .

3 Tāmen bǐcǐ shāngliang shuō , lái ba , wǒmen yào zuò zhuān , bǎ zhuān shāo tòu le . tāmen jiù ná zhuān dāng shítou , yòu ná shí qī dāng huīní .

4 Tāmen shuō , lái ba , wǒmen yào jiànzào yī zuò chéng hé yī zuò tǎ , tǎ dǐng tōng tiān , wéi yào chuányáng wǒmen de míng , miǎndé wǒmen fēnsàn zaì quán dì shàng .

5 Yēhéhuá jiànglín , yào kàn kàn shìrén suǒ jiànzào de chéng hé tǎ .

6 Yēhéhuá shuō , kàn nǎ , tāmen chéngwéi yíyàng de rénmín , dōu shì yíyàng de yányǔ , rújīn jì zuò qǐ zhè shì lái , yǐhòu tāmen suǒ yào zuò de shì jiù méiyǒu bú chéngjiù de le .

7 Wǒmen xià qù , zaì nàli biànluàn tāmende kǒuyīn , shǐ tāmende yányǔ bǐcǐ bú tòng .

8 Yúshì , Yēhéhuá shǐ tāmen cóng nàli fēnsàn zaì quán dì shǎng . tāmen jiù tíng gōng , bú zào nà chéng le .

9 Yīnwei Yēhéhuá zaì nàli biànluàn tiān xià rén de yányǔ , shǐ zhòngrén fēnsàn zaì quán dì shǎng , suǒyǐ nà chéng míng jiào Bābiè ( jiù shì biànluàn de yìsi ) .

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 11

This chapter gives an account of the inhabitants of the earth before the confusion of tongues at Babel, of their speech and language, which was one and the same, and of the place where they dwelt, Ge 11:1,2 and of their design to build a city and tower, to make them a name and keep them together, which they put in execution, Ge 11:3,4 of the notice the Lord took of this affair, and of the method he took to put a stop to their designs, by confounding their speech, and dispersing them abroad upon the face of the earth, Ge 11:5-9 then follows a genealogy of Shem's posterity down to Abraham, Ge 11:10-26 and a particular relation is given of Terah, the father of Abraham, and his family, and of his going forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, in order to go into the land of Canaan, and of his death at Haran by the way, Ge 11:27-32.
