1 Chronik 6:1-10

1 Die Söhne Levis waren: Gersom, Kehath und Merari.

2 Und die Söhne Kehaths: Amram, Jizhar und Hebron und Ussiel.

3 Und die Söhne Amrams: Aaron und Mose, und Mirjam. Und die Söhne Aarons: Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.

4 Eleasar zeugte Pinehas; Pinehas zeugte Abischua,

5 und Abischua zeugte Bukki, und Bukki zeugte Ussi,

6 und Ussi zeugte Serachja, und Serachja zeugte Merajoth;

7 Merajoth zeugte Amarja, und Amarja zeugte Ahitub,

8 und Ahitub zeugte Zadok, und Zadok zeugte Achimaaz,

9 und Achimaaz zeugte Asarja, und Asarja zeugte Jochanan,

10 und Jochanan zeugte Asarja; dieser ist es, der den Priesterdienst ausübte in dem Hause, welches Salomo zu Jerusalem gebaut hatte.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
