Acts 2:37-47

37 Now when ¹they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ²what shall we do? ”

38 And Peter said to them, ³“Repent and ⁴be baptized every one of you ⁵in the name of Jesus Christ ⁶for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ⁷the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For ⁸the promise is for you and ⁹for your children and for all ¹⁰who are far off, everyone ¹¹whom the Lord our God calls to himself. ”

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ¹²“Save yourselves from this ¹³crooked generation. ”

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ¹⁴there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 And ¹⁵they devoted themselves to the apostles’ ¹⁶teaching and the ¹⁷fellowship, to ¹⁸the breaking of bread and the prayers.

43 And awe^[a] came upon every soul, and ¹⁹many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

44 And all who believed were together and ²⁰had all things in common.

45 And ²¹they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

46 And day by day, ²²attending the temple ²³together and ²⁴breaking bread in their homes, they received their food ²⁵with glad and generous hearts,

47 praising God and ²⁶having favor with all the people. And the Lord ²⁷added to their number ²⁸day by day those who ²⁹were being saved.
