Listen to Luke 4:16-21

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

16 1And he came to 2Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And 3as was his custom, 4he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up 5to read.
17 And 6the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
18 7“The Spirit of the Lord 8is upon me, because he has anointed me to 9proclaim good news to the poor. 10He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and 11recovering of sight to the blind, 12to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 13to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. ”
20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and 14sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were 15fixed on him.
21 And he began to say to them, “Today 16this Scripture 17has been fulfilled in your hearing. ”
