2 Corinthians 6

JUB

NIV

1 We then, as workers together with him, exhort you also that ye have not received the grace of God in vain.
1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in an acceptable time, and in the day of saving health I have succoured thee; behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of saving health.)
2 For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
3 Giving no offense in anything, that the ministry not be blamed,
3 We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.
4 But in all things showing ourselves as the ministers of God in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,
4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;
5 in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,
5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;
6 in chastity, in knowledge, in meekness, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned charity,
6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;
7 in the word of truth, in the power of God through the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
8 through honour and dishonour, through evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet as men of the truth;
8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;
9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, but, behold, we live; as chastened, but not killed;
9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed;
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
11 O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.
12 Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us.
13 Now for a recompense in the same (I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.
13 As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness? and what communion does light have with darkness?
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15 And what concord does Christ have with Belial? or what part do the faithful have with the unfaithful?
15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
17 Therefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you
17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
18 and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
