CEB 1 God, don't be silent! Don't be quiet or sit still, God, NRS 1 O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! NRS 4 They say, "Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more." CEB 5 They plot with a single-minded heart; they make a covenant against you. NRS 5 They conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant— CEB 6 They are the clans of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, NRS 6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, CEB 7 Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia along with the citizens of Tyre. NRS 7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; CEB 8 Assyria too has joined them— they are the strong arm for Lot's children. Selah NRS 8 Assyria also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. (Selah) CEB 9 Do to them what you did to Midian, to Sisera, and to Jabin at the Kishon River. NRS 9 Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the Wadi Kishon, CEB 10 They were destroyed at Endor; they become fertilizer for the ground. NRS 10 who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground. CEB 11 Make their officials like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna— NRS 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, CEB 12 those who said, "Let's take God's pastures for ourselves." NRS 12 who said, "Let us take the pastures of God for our own possession." CEB 13 My God, make them like tumbleweeds, like chaff blown by wind. NRS 13 O my God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the wind. CEB 14 Just like a fire consumes a forest, just like flames set mountains ablaze, NRS 14 As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, CEB 15 pursue them with your storm, terrify them with your hurricane. NRS 15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane. CEB 16 Cover their faces with shame, LORD, so that they might seek your name. NRS 16 Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek your name, O Lord. CEB 17 Let them be shamed and terrified forever. Let them die in disgrace. NRS 17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace. CEB 18 Let them know that you— your name is the LORD!— you alone are Most High over all the earth. NRS 18 Let them know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.
