Exodus 39

RHE

NRS

1 And he made, of violet and purple, scarlet and fine linen, the vestments for Aaron to wear when he ministered in the holy places, as the Lord commanded Moses.
1 Of the blue, purple, and crimson yarns they made finely worked vestments, for ministering in the holy place; they made the sacred vestments for Aaron; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
2 So he made an ephod of gold, violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen,
2 He made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen.
3 With embroidered work, and he cut thin plates of gold, and drew them small into threads, that they might be twisted with the woof of the foresaid colours,
3 Gold leaf was hammered out and cut into threads to work into the blue, purple, and crimson yarns and into the fine twisted linen, in skilled design.
4 And two borders coupled one to the other in the top on either side,
4 They made for the ephod shoulder-pieces, joined to it at its two edges.
5 And a girdle of the same colours, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
5 The decorated band on it was of the same materials and workmanship, of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
6 He prepared also two onyx stones, fast set and closed in gold, and graven, by the art of a lapidary, with the names of the children of Israel:
6 The onyx stones were prepared, enclosed in settings of gold filigree and engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel.
7 And he set them in the sides of the ephod, for a memorial of the children of Israel, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
7 He set them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
8 He made also a rational with embroidered work, according to the work of the ephod, of gold, violet, purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen:
8 He made the breastpiece, in skilled work, like the work of the ephod, of gold, of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen.
9 Foursquare, double, of the measure of a span.
9 It was square; the breastpiece was made double, a span in length and a span in width when doubled.
10 And he set four rows of precious stones in it. In the first row was a sardius, a topaz, an emerald.
10 They set in it four rows of stones. A row of carnelian, chrysolite, and emerald was the first row;
11 In the second, a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a jasper.
11 and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and a moonstone;
12 In the third, a ligurius, an agate, and an amethyst.
12 and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
13 In the fourth, a chrysolite, an onyx, and a beryl, set and enclosed in gold by their rows.
13 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper; they were enclosed in settings of gold filigree.
14 And the twelve stones, were engraved with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, each one with its several name.
14 There were twelve stones with names corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel; they were like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.
15 They made also in the rational little chains, linked one to another, of the purest gold,
15 They made on the breastpiece chains of pure gold, twisted like cords;
16 And two hooks, and as many rings of gold. And they set the rings on either side of the rational,
16 and they made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece;
17 On which rings the two golden chains should hang, which they put into the hooks that stood out in the corners of the ephod.
17 and they put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece.
18 These both before and behind so answered one another, that the ephod and the rational were bound together,
18 Two ends of the two cords they had attached to the two settings of filigree; in this way they attached it in front to the shoulder-pieces of the ephod.
19 Being fastened to the girdle, and strongly coupled with rings, which a violet fillet joined, lest they should flag loose, and be moved one from the other, as the Lord commanded Moses.
19 Then they made two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod.
20 They made also the tunic of the ephod all of violet,
20 They made two rings of gold, and attached them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod, at its joining above the decorated band of the ephod.
21 And a hole for the head in the upper part at the middle, and a woven border round about the hole:
21 They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it should lie on the decorated band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece should not come loose from the ephod; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
22 And beneath at the feet pomegranates of violet, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen:
22 He also made the robe of the ephod woven all of blue yarn;
23 And little bells of the purest gold, which they put between the pomegranates at the bottom of the tunic round about:
23 and the opening of the robe in the middle of it was like the opening in a coat of mail, with a binding around the opening, so that it might not be torn.
24 To wit, a bell of gold, and a pomegranate, wherewith the high priest went adorned, when he discharged his ministry, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
24 On the lower hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, and of fine twisted linen.
25 They made also fine linen tunics with woven work for Aaron and his sons:
25 They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the lower hem of the robe all around, between the pomegranates;
26 And mitres with their little crowns of fine linen:
26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate all around on the lower hem of the robe for ministering; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
27 And linen breeches of fine linen:
27 They also made the tunics, woven of fine linen, for Aaron and his sons,
28 And a girdle of fine twisted linen, violet, purple, and scarlet twice dyed, of embroidery work, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
28 and the turban of fine linen, and the headdresses of fine linen, and the linen undergarments of fine twisted linen,
29 They made also the plate of sacred veneration of the purest gold, and they wrote on it with the engraving of a lapidary: The Holy of the Lord:
29 and the sash of fine twisted linen, and of blue, purple, and crimson yarns, embroidered with needlework; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
30 And they fastened it to the mitre with a violet fillet, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
30 They made the rosette of the holy diadem of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription, like the engraving of a signet, "Holy to the Lord."
31 So all the work of the tabernacle and of the roof of the testimony was finished: and the children of Israel did all things which the Lord had commanded Moses.
31 They tied to it a blue cord, to fasten it on the turban above; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
32 And they offered the tabernacle, and the roof, and the whole furniture, the rings, the boards, the bars, the pillars and their sockets,
32 In this way all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished; the Israelites had done everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
33 The cover of rams’ skins dyed red, and the other cover of violet skins,
33 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its utensils, its hooks, its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases;
34 The veil, the ark, the bars, the propitiatory,
34 the covering of tanned rams' skins and the covering of fine leather, and the curtain for the screen;
35 The table, with the vessels thereof, and the loaves of proposition:
35 the ark of the covenant with its poles and the mercy seat;
36 The candlestick, the lamps, and the furniture of them, with the oil:
36 the table with all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence;
37 The altar of gold, and the ointment, and the incense of spices:
37 the pure lampstand with its lamps set on it and all its utensils, and the oil for the light;
38 And the hanging in the entry of the tabernacle:
38 the golden altar, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the entrance of the tent;
39 The altar of brass, the grate, the bars, and all the vessels thereof: the laver, with the foot thereof: the hangings of the court, and the pillars, with their sockets:
39 the bronze altar, and its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;
40 The hanging in the entry of the court, and the little cords, and the pins thereof. Nothing was wanting of the vessels, that were commanded to be made for the ministry of the tabernacle, and for the roof of the covenant.
40 the hangings of the court, its pillars, and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court, its cords, and its pegs; and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;
41 The vestments also, which the priests, to wit, Aaron and his sons, use in the sanctuary,
41 the finely worked vestments for ministering in the holy place, the sacred vestments for the priest Aaron, and the vestments of his sons to serve as priests.
42 The children of Israel offered, as the Lord had commanded.
42 The Israelites had done all of the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
43 And when Moses saw all things finished, he blessed them.
43 When Moses saw that they had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded, he blessed them.
