1 The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of Simeon, according to its families; its inheritance lay within the inheritance of the tribe of Judah.
1 And the second heritage came out for the tribe of Simeon by their families; and their heritage was in the middle of the heritage of the children of Judah.
2 It had for its inheritance Beer-sheba, Sheba, Moladah,

7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan—four towns with their villages;
7 Ain, Rimmon, and Ether and Ashan; four towns with their unwalled places;
8 together with all the villages all around these towns as far as Baalath-beer, Ramah of the Negeb. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Simeon according to its families.
8 And all the unwalled places round about these towns as far as Baalath-beer-ramah to the south. This is the heritage of the tribe of Simeon by their families.
9 The inheritance of the tribe of Simeon formed part of the territory of Judah; because the portion of the tribe of Judah was too large for them, the tribe of Simeon obtained an inheritance within their inheritance.
9 The heritage of Simeon was taken out of Judah's stretch of land, for Judah's part was more than they had need of, so the heritage of the children of Simeon was inside their heritage.
10 The third lot came up for the tribe of Zebulun, according to its families. The boundary of its inheritance reached as far as Sarid;
10 And the third heritage came out for Zebulun by their families; the limit of their heritage was as far as Sarid;
11 then its boundary goes up westward, and on to Maralah, and touches Dabbesheth, then the wadi that is east of Jokneam;
11 And their limit goes up to the west to Maralah, stretching to Dabbesheth, and to the stream in front of Jokneam;
12 from Sarid it goes in the other direction eastward toward the sunrise to the boundary of Chisloth-tabor; from there it goes to Daberath, then up to Japhia;
12 Then turning east from Sarid to the limit of Chisloth-tabor, it goes out to Daberath, and up to Japhia;
13 from there it passes along on the east toward the sunrise to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin, and going on to Rimmon it bends toward Neah;
13 And from there it goes on east to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin; ending at Rimmon which goes as far as Neah;
14 then on the north the boundary makes a turn to Hannathon, and it ends at the valley of Iphtah-el;
14 And the line goes round it on the north to Hannathon, ending at the valley of Iphtah-el;
15 and Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem—twelve towns with their villages.
15 And Kattath and Nahalal and Shimron and Idalah and Beth-lehem; twelve towns with their unwalled places.
16 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Zebulun, according to its families—these towns with their villages.
16 This is the heritage of the children of Zebulun by their families, these towns with their unwalled places.
17 The fourth lot came out for Issachar, for the tribe of Issachar, according to its families.
17 For Issachar the fourth heritage came out, for the children of Issachar by their families;
18 Its territory included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,
18 And their limit was to Jezreel and Chesulloth and Shunem
19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
19 And Hapharaim and Shion and Anaharath
20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
20 And Rabbith and Kishion and Ebez
21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, Beth-pazzez;
21 And Remeth and En-gannim and En-haddah and Beth-pazzez;
22 the boundary also touches Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and its boundary ends at the Jordan—sixteen towns with their villages.
22 And their limit goes as far as Tabor and Shahazimah and Beth-shemesh, ending at Jordan; sixteen towns with their unwalled places.
23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its families—the towns with their villages.
23 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Issachar by their families, these towns with their unwalled places.
24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher according to its families.
24 And the fifth heritage came out for the tribe of Asher by their families.
25 Its boundary included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
25 And their limit was Helkath and Hali and Beten and Achshaph
26 Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal; on the west it touches Carmel and Shihor-libnath,
26 And Alammelech and Amad and Mishal, stretching to Carmel on the west and Shihor-libnath;
27 then it turns eastward, goes to Beth-dagon, and touches Zebulun and the valley of Iphtah-el northward to Beth-emek and Neiel; then it continues in the north to Cabul,
27 Turning to the east to Beth-dagon and stretching to Zebulun and the valley of Iphtah-el as far as Beth-emek and Neiel to the north; on the left it goes as far as Cabul
28 Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, Kanah, as far as Great Sidon;
28 And Ebron and Rehob and Hammon and Kanah, to great Zidon;
29 then the boundary turns to Ramah, reaching to the fortified city of Tyre; then the boundary turns to Hosah, and it ends at the sea; Mahalab, Achzib,
29 And the limit goes round to Ramah and the walled town of Tyre and Hosah, ending at the sea by Heleb and Achzib;
30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob—twenty-two towns with their villages.
30 And Ummah and Aphek and Rehob; twenty-two towns with their unwalled places.
31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Asher according to its families—these towns with their villages.
31 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Asher by their families, these towns with their unwalled places.
32 The sixth lot came out for the tribe of Naphtali, for the tribe of Naphtali, according to its families.
32 For the children of Naphtali the sixth heritage came out, for the children of Naphtali by their families;
33 And its boundary ran from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum; and it ended at the Jordan;
33 And their limit was from Heleph, from the oak-tree in Zaanannim, and Adami-hannekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, ending at Jordan;
34 then the boundary turns westward to Aznoth-tabor, and goes from there to Hukkok, touching Zebulun at the south, and Asher on the west, and Judah on the east at the Jordan.
34 And turning west to Aznoth-tabor, the limit goes out from there to Hukkok, stretching to Zebulun on the south, and Asher on the west, and Judah at Jordan on the east.
35 The fortified towns are Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,
35 And the walled towns are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth
36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
36 And Adamah and Ramah and Hazor
37 Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor,
37 And Kedesh and Edrei and En-Hazor
38 Iron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh—nineteen towns with their villages.

39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali according to its families—the towns with their villages.
39 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Naphtali by their families, these towns with their unwalled places.
40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan, according to its families.
40 For the tribe of Dan by their families the seventh heritage came out;
41 The territory of its inheritance included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,
41 And the limit of their heritage was Zorah and Eshtaol and Ir-shemesh
42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
42 And Shaalabbin and Aijalon and Ithlah
43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
43 And Elon and Timnah and Ekron
44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
44 And Eltekeh and Gibbethon and Baalath
45 Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,
45 And Jehud and Bene-berak and Gath-rimmon;
46 Me-jarkon, and Rakkon at the border opposite Joppa.
46 And on the west was ... opposite Joppa.
47 When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, the Danites went up and fought against Leshem, and after capturing it and putting it to the sword, they took possession of it and settled in it, calling Leshem, Dan, after their ancestor Dan.
47 (But the limit of the children of Dan was not wide enough for them; so the children of Dan went up and made war on Leshem and took it, putting it to the sword without mercy, and they took it for their heritage and made a place for themselves there, giving it the name of Leshem-dan, after the name of their father, Dan.)
48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, according to their families—these towns with their villages.

49 When they had finished distributing the several territories of the land as inheritances, the Israelites gave an inheritance among them to Joshua son of Nun.
49 So the distribution of the land and its limits was complete; and the children of Israel gave Joshua, the son of Nun, a heritage among them;
50 By command of the Lord they gave him the town that he asked for, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim; he rebuilt the town, and settled in it.
50 By the orders of the Lord they gave him the town for which he made request, Timnath-serah in the hill-country of Ephraim: there, after building the town, he made his living-place.
51 These are the inheritances that the priest Eleazar and Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the families of the tribes of the Israelites distributed by lot at Shiloh before the Lord, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing the land.
51 These are the heritages which Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of families of the tribes of the children of Israel gave out at Shiloh, by the decision of the Lord, at the door of the Tent of meeting. So the distribution of the land was complete.
