KJV 1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, ESV 1 Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples KJV 2 And saith unto them,Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. ESV 2 and said to them, "Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. KJV 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. ESV 3 If anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.'" KJV 4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him. ESV 4 And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. KJV 5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? ESV 5 And some of those standing there said to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?" KJV 6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. ESV 6 And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go. KJV 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. ESV 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. KJV 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. ESV 8 And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. KJV 9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: ESV 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! KJV 10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. ESV 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!" KJV 11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve. ESV 11 And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
