1 Les principaux du peuple s'établirent à Jérusalem; mais le reste du peuple tira au sort, afin qu'un sur dix vînt s'établir à Jérusalem, la sainte cité, et que les neuf autres dixièmes demeurassent dans les autres villes.

1 And the rulers of the people dwelt at Yerushalayim; the rest of the people also cast goralot, to bring one of ten to dwell in Yerushalayim Ir HaKodesh, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.
2 Et le peuple bénit tous ceux qui se présentèrent volontairement pour s'établir à Jérusalem.

And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Yerushalayim.
3 Voici les principaux de la province qui s'établirent à Jérusalem, les autres s'étant établis dans les villes de Juda, chacun dans sa possession, dans sa ville, Israélites, sacrificateurs, Lévites, Néthiniens et enfants des serviteurs de Salomon.

Now these are the chiefs of the province that dwelt in Yerushalayim, but in the towns of Yehudah dwelt every one in his possession in their towns—Yisroel, the Kohanim, and the Levi’im, and the Netinim, and the Bnei Avdei Sh’lomo.
4 A Jérusalem habitèrent donc des enfants de Juda et des enfants de Benjamin. Des enfants de Juda: Athaja, fils d'Uzia, fils de Zacharie, fils d'Amaria, fils de Shéphatia, fils de Mahalaléel, des enfants de Pharets,

And at Yerushalayim dwelt certain of the Bnei Yehudah, and of the Bnei Binyamin. Of the Bnei Yehudah; Atayah ben Uziyah, ben Zecharyah, ben Amaryah, ben Shephatyah, ben Mahalal’el, of the children of Peretz;
5 Et Maaséja, fils de Baruc, fils de Col-Hozé, fils de Hazaja, fils d'Adaja, fils de Jojarib, fils de Zacharie, fils de Shiloni.

And Ma’aseiyah ben Baruch, ben Colchozeh, ben Chazayah, ben Adayah, ben Yoyariv, ben Zecharyah, ben Shelah.
6 Total des enfants de Pharets, qui s'établirent à Jérusalem, quatre cent soixante-huit vaillants hommes.

All the Bnei Peretz that dwelt at Yerushalayim were four hundred threescore and eight anshei chayil.
7 Et voici les enfants de Benjamin: Sallu, fils de Méshullam, fils de Joëd, fils de Pédaja, fils de Kolaja, fils de Maaséja, fils d'Ithiel, fils d'Ésaïe;

And these are the Bnei Binyamin: Sallu ben Meshullam, ben Yoed, ben Pedayah, ben Kolayah, ben Ma’aseiyah, ben Itiel, ben Yeshayah.
8 Et après lui Gabbaï, Sallaï, neuf cent vingt-huit.

And after him Gabai, Sallai, 928.
9 Et Joël, fils de Zicri, était commis sur eux; et Juda, fils de Sénua, était lieutenant de la ville.

And Yoel ben Zichri was their pakid (overseer), and Yehudah ben Hasnuah was second over the Ir.

Of the Kohanim; Yedayah ben Yoyariv, Yachin,
11 Séraja, fils de Hilkija, fils de Méshullam, fils de Tsadok, fils de Mérajoth, fils d'Achitub, conducteur de la maison de Dieu;

Serayah ben Chilkiyah ben Meshullam ben Tzadok ben Merayot ben Achituv the Nagid Bais HaElohim.
12 Puis leurs frères, qui faisaient le service de la maison, au nombre de huit cent vingt-deux. Et Adaja, fils de Jérocham, fils de Pélalia, fils d'Amtsi, fils de Zacharie, fils de Pashur, fils de Malkija;

And their brethren that did the work of the Beis {HaMikdash] were eight hundred twenty and two; and Adayah ben Yerocham, ben Pelalyah, ben Amtzi, ben Zecharyah, ben Pashchur, ben Malkiyah.
13 Et ses frères, chefs des pères, au nombre de deux cent quarante-deux. Et Amashaï, fils d'Azaréel, fils d'Achzaï, fils de Méshillémoth, fils d'Immer.

And his brethren, chief of the avot, two hundred forty and two; and Amashsai ben Azare’el ben Achzai ben Meshillemot ben Immer,
14 Et leurs frères, forts et vaillants, au nombre de cent vingt-huit. Et Zabdiel, fils de Guédolim, était préposé sur eux.

And their brethren, gibborei chayil, one hundred twenty and eight; and their overseer was Zavdiel ben HaGedolim.
15 D'entre les Lévites: Shémaja, fils de Hashub, fils d'Azrikam, fils de Hashabia, fils de Bunni;

Also of the Levi’im; Shemayah ben Chashuv ben Azrikam ben Chashavyah ben Bunni;
16 Shabbéthaï et Jozabad, chargés du service extérieur pour la maison de Dieu, d'entre les chefs des Lévites;

And Shabtai and Yozavad, of the chief of the Levi’im, had the oversight of the outside work of the Beis HaElohim.
17 Matthania, fils de Mica, fils de Zabdi, fils d'Asaph, chef, qui commençait le premier à chanter les louanges, à la prière, et Bakbukia le second d'entre ses frères; et Abda, fils de Shammua, fils de Galal, fils de Jéduthun.

And Matanyah ben Micha ben Zavdi ben Asaph was the Rosh leading techillah in tefillah, and Bakbukyah the second among his brethren, and Avda ben Shammua ben Galal ben Yedutun.
18 Total des Lévites dans la sainte cité: deux cent quatre-vingt-quatre.

All the Levi’im in the Ir HaKodesh were two hundred fourscore and four.
19 Et les portiers: Akkub, Talmon, et leurs frères, qui gardaient les portes: cent soixante-douze.

Moreover the gatekeepers, Akuv, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were one hundred seventy and two.
20 Le reste des Israélites, les sacrificateurs; les Lévites, s'établit dans toutes les villes de Juda, chacun dans son héritage.

And the rest of Yisroel, of the Kohanim, and the Levi’im, were in all the cities of Yehudah, every one in his nachalah.
21 Les Néthiniens habitèrent à Ophel; Tsicha et Guishpa étaient préposés sur les Néthiniens.

But the Netinim dwelt in Ophel, and Tzicha and Gishpa were over the Netinim.
22 Celui qui avait charge des Lévites à Jérusalem, était Uzzi, fils de Bani, fils de Hashabia, fils de Matthania, fils de Mica, d'entre les enfants d'Asaph, chantres, pour le service de la maison de Dieu.

The overseer also of the Levi’im at Yerushalayim was Uzzi ben Bani, ben Chashavyah ben Matanyah ben Micha. Of the Bnei Asaph, the singers were responsible for the Beis HaElohim.
23 Car il y avait un commandement du roi à leur égard, et il y avait un salaire assuré, pour les chantres, chaque jour.

For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that a regulation be for the singers, over their daily actities.
24 Péthachia, fils de Meshézabéel, des enfants de Zarach, fils de Juda, était commissaire du roi, pour toutes les affaires du peuple.

And Petachyah ben Mesheizav’el, of the Bnei Zerach ben Yehudah, was the king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.
25 Pour ce qui est des villages avec leur territoire, quelques-uns des enfants de Juda habitèrent à Kirjath-Arba, et dans les lieux de son ressort; à Dilon, et dans les lieux de son ressort; à Jékabtséel, et dans ses villages,

And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Yehudah dwelt at Kiryat-Arba, and in the villages thereof, and at Divon, and in the villages thereof, and at Yekabze’el, and in the villages thereof,
26 A Jéshua, à Molada, à Beth-Palet,

And at Yeshua, and at Moladah, and at Beit-Pelet,
27 A Hatsar-Shual, à Béer-Shéba et dans les lieux de son ressort,

And at Chatzar Shual, and at Beer Sheva, and in the villages thereof,
28 A Tsiklag, à Mécona et dans les lieux de son ressort,

And at Tziklag, and at Mechonah, and in the villages thereof,
29 A En-Rimmon, à Tsora, à Jarmuth,

And at En-Rimmon, and at Tzorah, and at Yarmut,
30 A Zanoach, à Adullam et dans leurs villages; à Lakis et dans ses territoires; et à Azéka et dans les lieux de son ressort; ils habitèrent depuis Béer-Shéba jusqu'à la vallée de Hinnom.

Zanoach, Adulam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof. And they dwelt from BeerSheva unto the valley of Gehinnom.
31 Les enfants de Benjamin habitèrent depuis Guéba, à Micmash, Ajja, Béthel et dans les lieux de son ressort,

The children also of Binyamin from Geva dwelt at Michmas, and Ayah, and Beit-El, and in their villages.
32 A Anathoth, Nob, Anania,

And at Anatot, Nov, Ananyah,
33 Hatsor, Rama, Guitthaïm,

Chatzor, Ramah, Gittayim,
34 Hadid, Tséboïm, Néballat,

Chadid, Tzvo’im, Nevalat,
35 Lod et Ono, la vallée des ouvriers.

36 D'entre les Lévites, des classes de Juda se rattachèrent à Benjamin.

And of the Levi’im were divisions in Yehudah and in Binyamin.
