The Complete Jewish Bible CJB
King James Version KJV
1 For the leader. By the descendants of Korach. On 'alamot [high-pitched musical instruments?]. A song: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we are unafraid, even if the earth gives way, even if the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,
2
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 even if its waters rage and foam, and mountains shake at its turbulence.
3
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy habitation of 'Elyon
4
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the city. It will not be moved when daybreak comes, God will help it.
5
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 Nations were in turmoil, kingdoms were moved; his voice thundered forth, and the earth melted away.
6
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 ADONAI-Tzva'ot is with us, our fortress, the God of Ya'akov. (Selah) (Selah)
7
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come and see the works of ADONAI, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth.
8
Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 To the ends of the earth he makes wars cease he breaks the bow, snaps the spear, burns the shields in the fire.
9
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 "Desist, and learn that I am God, supreme over the nations, supreme over the earth."
10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 ADONAI-Tzva'ot is with us, our fortress, the God of Ya'akov. (Selah)
11
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
