Psalm 87

NIV

CJB

1 He has founded his city on the holy mountain.
1 A psalm of the sons of Korach. A song: On the holy mountains is [the city's] foundation.
2 The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.
2 ADONAI loves the gates of Tziyon more than all the dwellings in Ya'akov.
3 Glorious things are said of you, city of God:
3 Glorious things are said about you, city of God. (Selah)
4 “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush — and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’ ”
4 I count Rahav and Bavel among those who know me; Of P'leshet, Tzor and Ethiopia [they will say], "This one was born there."
5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.”
5 But of Tziyon it will be said, "This one and that was born in it, for the Most High himself establishes it."
6 The LORD will write in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.”
6 When he registers the peoples, ADONAI will record, "This one was born there."(Selah)
7 As they make music they will sing, “All my fountains are in you.”
7 Singers and dancers alike say, "For me, you are the source of everything."
