God has a plan for our lives but don’t think for a minute it’s going to be a cake walk. At times we’ll suffer for His name sake, even when we’re in the middle of God’s will. That rings loud and clear as we open up Acts twenty-five today on Sound Doctrine. Maybe the timing couldn’t be better as you’re struggling big time and don’t know what to make of it? Join us for today’s message with pastor Jeff Johnson and receive encouragement straight from the pages of the Bible.

There’s a certain kind of fly that has to work for over twenty-four hours to break through its larvae to freedom. The interesting thing is that adversity is vital to its survival, because it causes its wings to strengthen enough to fly. Christians need some adversity in their lives as well. That comes to our attention as we examine the life of Paul. Today on Sound Doctrine, we open Acts 25 where Paul is being falsely accused and unjustly treated.

When Paul appealed his case to Caesar in Rome, it was ordained by God. Paul made a stand for the truth, and whether it looked good or bad, God was in it. In fact, God is in all that we experience in life. And, He gives us a future founded in hope that our lives are anchored in his Son, Jesus Christ, safe and secure in our salvation.

Paul’s heart was anchored to the truth of Jesus Christ, and the Word of God, which was, at that time, the Old Testament. Many lies were spoken of him, but Paul knew his calling, and was confident that God was in control, and that he was in the right place, at the right time.
