1 Re 6:1-7

1 Or il quattrocentottantesimo anno dopo l’uscita dei figliuoli d’Israele dal paese d’Egitto, nel quarto anno del suo regno sopra Israele, nel mese di Ziv, che è il secondo mese, Salomone cominciò a costruire la casa consacrata all’Eterno.

2 La casa che il re Salomone costruì per l’Eterno, avea sessanta cubiti di lunghezza, venti di larghezza, trenta di altezza.

3 Il portico sul davanti del luogo santo della casa avea venti cubiti di lunghezza rispondenti alla larghezza della casa, e dieci cubiti di larghezza sulla fronte della casa.

4 E il re fece alla casa delle finestre a reticolato fisso.

5 Egli costruì, a ridosso del muro della casa, tutt’intorno, de’ piani che circondavano i muri della casa: del luogo santo e del luogo santissimo; e fece delle camere laterali, tutt’all’intorno.

6 Il piano inferiore era largo cinque cubiti; quello di mezzo sei cubiti, e il terzo sette cubiti; perch’egli avea fatto delle sporgenze tutt’intorno ai muri esterni della casa, affinché le travi non fossero incastrate nei muri della casa.

7 Per la costruzione della casa si servirono di pietre già approntate alla cava; in guisa che nella casa, durante la sua costruzione, non s’udì mai rumore di martello, d’ascia o d’altro strumento di ferro.

INTRODUCTION TO FIRST KINGS 6

This chapter gives an account of the building of the temple, for which preparations were before made and begins with the time of its building, 1Ki 6:1; gives the dimensions of it and the porch before it, 1Ki 6:2,3; observes the windows in it and chambers about it, 1Ki 6:4-10; and while it was building, Solomon had a word from the Lord relative to it, 1Ki 6:11-14; and then the account goes on concerning the walls of the house, and the flooring of it, 1Ki 6:15-18; and the oracle in it, and the cherubim in that, 1Ki 6:19-30; and the doors into it, and the carved work of them, 1Ki 6:31-36; and the chapter is concluded with observing the time when it was begun and finished 1Ki 6:37,38.
