Ezekiel 40:24

24 Then he had me walk toward the south, where there was a gate facing south. He measured its arches and porch using the same measurements.

Ezekiel 40:24 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 40:24

After that he brought me toward the south
Having taken the dimensions of the east and north gates, the prophet was had on the south side of the building: and behold a gate toward the south;
that led to the southern part of this fabric, and to the outward court there, exactly like the other two; there was no difference in them, which raised the prophet's wonder and attention; for, as Lipman F11 says, there was no outward court in the second temple, but to the east of the inward; and it did not encompass the other sides; and so the more wonderful: and he measured the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according,
to these measures;
the measures of the east and north gates, which were just alike; for these all signified but one gateway or door into the church below, into heaven above, or into the presence of God here and hereafter, which is Christ, ( John 14:6 ) ( John 10:1 John 10:7 John 10:9 ) .

Ezekiel 40:24 In-Context

22 The windows, porch, and palm decorations had the same measurements as those of the East Gate. Seven steps led up to the entrance, and the porch was at the other end.
23 There were also gates to the inner courtyard opposite the North and East Gates. When he measured from gate to gate, it was one hundred fifty feet.
24 Then he had me walk toward the south, where there was a gate facing south. He measured its arches and porch using the same measurements.
25 Its windows and its porch all around were like the others, and the gate also was seventy-five feet long and thirty-seven and a half feet wide.
26 Its stairway had seven steps, and its porch was at the other end. On its arches, one on either side, were palm decorations.
