Leviticus 18:22

22 You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.[a]

Leviticus 18:22 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 18:22

Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind
By carnal knowledge of them, and carnal copulation with them, and mixing bodies in like manner: this is the sin commonly called sodomy, from the inhabitants of Sodom, greatly addicted to it, for which their city was destroyed by fire: those that are guilty of this sin, are, by the apostle, called "abusers of themselves with mankind", ( 1 Corinthians 6:9 ) ; it [is] abomination;
it is so to God, as the above instance of his vengeance shows, and ought to be abominable to men, as being not only contrary to the law of God, but even contrary to nature itself, and what is never to be observed among brute creatures.

Leviticus 18:22 In-Context

20 You are not to have sexual intercourse with your neighbor's wife, defiling yourself with her.
21 "You are not to make any of your children pass through [the fire] to Molech. Do not profane the name of your God; I am the Lord.
22 You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.
23 You are not to have sexual intercourse with any animal, defiling yourself with it; a woman is not to present herself to an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
24 "Do not defile yourselves by any of these [practices], for the nations I am driving out before you have defiled themselves by all these things.
