And he began to speak unto thembyparables.A certain manplanted a vineyard, andset an hedge about it, anddigged a place for the winefat, andbuilt a tower, andletitout to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2
And at the season he sentto the husbandmen a servant, that he might receivefrom the husbandmenof the fruit of the vineyard.

And they caught him, and beathim, and sent him awayempty.
4
Andagain he sentuntothemanotherservant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5
Andagain he sentanother; and him they killed, andmanyothers*; beating some, and killing some.
6
Havingyetthereforeoneson, hiswellbeloved, he senthimalsolastuntothem, saying*, They will reverencemyson.
7
Butthosehusbandmensaidamongthemselves,This*is the heir;come, let us killhim, and the inheritance shall beours.
8
And they tookhim, and killed him, andcast him out of the vineyard.
9
Whatshalltherefore the lord of the vineyarddo? he will comeanddestroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10
And have yenotreadthisscripture; The stonewhich the buildersrejectedis*become the head of the corner:

12
And they sought to lay hold on him, butfeared the people:for they knewthat he had spoken the parableagainstthem:and they lefthim, and went their way.
13
And they senduntohimcertain of the Phariseesand of the Herodians, tocatchhim in his words.
14
And when they were come, they say unto him,Master, we knowthat thou arttrue, and*carest*for no man:for thou regardestnot the personofmen, butteachest the way of Godintruth: Is it lawful to givetribute to Caesar, ornot?
15
Shall we give, or shall we notgive? But he, knowingtheirhypocrisy, said unto them,Why tempt yeme?bringme a penny,[a]that I may see it.
16
And they brought it. And he saith unto them,Whose is thisimageandsuperscription? And they said unto him,Caesar's.
17
AndJesusansweringsaid unto them,Render to Caesar the things that areCaesar's,and to God the things that areGod's.And they marvelledathim.
18
Thencomeuntohim the Sadducees,whichsay there isnoresurrection;and they askedhim,saying,
19
Master,Moseswrote unto us,Ifaman'sbrotherdie, andleave his wife behind him, andleavenochildren, thathisbrother should takehiswife, and raise upseed unto hisbrother.
20
Now there weresevenbrethren:and the firsttook a wife,anddyingleftnoseed.
21
And the secondtookher, anddied*, neitherlefthe any seed:and the thirdlikewise.
22
And the sevenhadher, andleftnoseed:last of all the womandiedalso.
23
In the resurrectiontherefore, when they shall rise, whosewife shall she be of them?for the sevenhadher to wife.
24
AndJesusansweringsaid unto them, Do yenottherefore*err, because ye knownot the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25
Forwhen they shall risefrom the dead, they neithermarry, nor are given in marriage; butareas the angelswhich are inheaven.
26
And as touching the dead, that they rise: have yenotreadin the book of Moses, howin the bushGodspake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27
He isnot the God of the dead, but the God of the living: yethereforedogreatlyerr.
28
