The 1wilderness and the desert will be glad, And the a2Arabah will rejoice and blossom ; Like the crocus2
It will 3blossomprofusely And 4rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy. The 5glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of 6Carmel and Sharon. They will see the 7glory of the LORD, The majesty of our God.
38Encourage the bexhausted, and strengthen the cfeeble .
4Say to those with 9anxiousheart, "Takecourage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with 10vengeance ; The 11recompense of God will come, But He will 12save you."
5Then the 13eyes of the blind will be opened And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
6Then the 14lame will leap like a deer, And the 15tongue of the mute will shout for joy. For waters will breakforth in the 16wilderness And streams in the dArabah.

The escorchedland will become a pool And the thirstyground17springs of water ; In the 18haunt of jackals, its restingplace, Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
819A highway will be there, 20a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of 21Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And 22fools will not wander on it.
9No23lion will be there, Nor will any viciousbeastgo up on it; fThese will not be foundthere. But 24the redeemed will walk there,

And 25the ransomed of the LORD will return And come with joyfulshouting to Zion, With everlastingjoy upon their heads. They will gfindgladness and joy, And 26sorrow and sighing will fleeaway.
