He was in the world, and 1the world was madethrough Him, and the world did not know Him.

He came to His [a]own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become2children of God, even 3to those who believe in His name,

4who were [b]born, not of [c]bloodnor of the will of the fleshnor of the will of man, but of God.
The Word Made Flesh
14 And 5the Word6becameflesh, and [d]7dweltamong us, and 8we saw His glory, glory as of [e]the onlybegotten from the Father, full of 9grace and 10truth.

John11testifiedabout Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, '12He who comesafter me [f]has a higherrank than I, 13for He existedbefore me.' "

For of His 14fullness[g]we have allreceived, and [h]grace upon grace.

For 15the Law was giventhroughMoses; 16grace and 17truth[i]were realizedthroughJesusChrist.

18Noone has seenGod at anytime; 19the onlybegottenGod who is 20in the bosom of the Father, 21He has explained Him.
The Testimony of John
19This is 22the testimony of John, when23the Jewssent to him priests and Levites24from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"

And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, "25I am not [j]the Christ."
