John 1:10-20

Listen to John 1:10-20

10 He was in the world, and ¹the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

11 He came to His ^[a]own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become ²children of God, even ³to those who believe in His name,

13 ⁴who were ^[b]born, not of ^[c]blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Word Made Flesh

14 And ⁵the Word ⁶became flesh, and ^[d]⁷dwelt among us, and ⁸we saw His glory, glory as of ^[e]the only begotten from the Father, full of ⁹grace and ¹⁰truth.

15 John ¹¹testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, '¹²He who comes after me ^[f]has a higher rank than I, ¹³for He existed before me.' "

16 For of His ¹⁴fullness ^[g]we have all received, and ^[h]grace upon grace.

17 For ¹⁵the Law was given through Moses; ¹⁶grace and ¹⁷truth ^[i]were realized through Jesus Christ.

18 ¹⁸No one has seen God at any time; ¹⁹the only begotten God who is ²⁰in the bosom of the Father, ²¹He has explained Him.

The Testimony of John

19 This is ²²the testimony of John, when ²³the Jews sent to him priests and Levites ²⁴from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"

20 And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, "²⁵I am not ^[j]the Christ."
